Labiaplasty is a surgical body-contouring procedure for women, designed to reduce and reshape the labia minora (inner vaginal lips) and, sometimes, the labia majora (outer lips) to improve comfort, function, and appearance. This cosmetic surgery procedure may be performed alone or combined with a clitoral hood reduction, labia majora enhancement with fat, fillers, and/or concentrated PRP to achieve a more balanced and refined result.  PRP can be instilled to improve sensation, lubrication, and speed recovery.

Patients in Las Vegas seek labiaplasty surgery for both functional and aesthetic reasons, including discomfort, irritation, lack of symmetry, to improve proportions, to expose the clitoris for improved sensitivity, and to improve their contour in tight clothing and swimwear.

What Is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is a vaginal rejuvenation surgery that involves reducing and reshaping the labia minora and, sometimes, the labia majora. In some cases, a clitoral hood reduction is performed at the same time to remove excess tissue covering the clitoris, improving symmetry and proportion and helping achieve better sensation during relations. Labiaplasty is a highly individualized cosmetic gynecologic procedure, tailored to each patient’s anatomy and goals. This procedure may address:

  • Elongated or asymmetrical labia
  • Discomfort during physical activity or intimacy
  • Irritation caused by clothing
  • Aesthetic concerns related to labial size or shape

How the Procedure Is Performed

During labiaplasty surgery, Dr. Z will measure, mark, and remove excess labial tissue and sculpt it with a CO2 laser to create a natural, balanced appearance while preserving sensation and function. A CO2 laser reduces bleeding and postoperative discomfort by cauterizing tiny blood vessels and nerve endings as it cuts, without actually touching the tissue.

Occasionally, the labia majora may need to be reduced or re-inflated with your own fat, fillers, or PRP to restore youthful proportion. When included, clitoral hood reduction surgery involves removing excess tissue around the clitoral hood to improve contour and proportionality. Techniques may include:

  • Removal of excess tissue along the edge (removes the thinner, pigmented outer edge of the labia and can be tapered per your wishes and blended with clitoral hood resection.
  • Wedge technique (removal of a central portion while preserving natural borders)

Dr. Z will recommend which approach may be optimal based on your anatomy and goals.

Procedure Details:

  • Duration: 1–2 hours
  • Anesthesia: Local anesthesia with sedation if desired

What Labiaplasty Can Help With

Labiaplasty is ideal for Las Vegas patients seeking labial reduction surgery for both functional and aesthetic improvement. It can help:

  • Reduce excess or elongated labial tissue
  • Improve comfort during exercise, intercourse, or daily activities
  • Decrease irritation or chafing
  • Enhance symmetry and appearance in and out of clothing
  • Improve confidence and overall quality of life

Pre-Surgical Guidelines

To prepare for labiaplasty surgery, Las Vegas patients should:

  • Avoid nicotine for at least 4–6 weeks before and after surgery
  • Stop blood-thinning medications as directed
  • Maintain good hygiene and overall health
  • Follow all pre-operative instructions provided during consultation
  • Try to schedule your procedure mid-cycle when you are less sensitive

What to Expect and After Care

Recovery from labiaplasty and clitoral hood reduction is typically well tolerated but requires careful post-operative care. After the labiaplasty:

  • Swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort are expected
  • Temporary sensitivity in the area is common
  • Sutures are typically absorbable, but any left after 3 to 4 weeks may be removed so they don’t snag on clothing.

Patients should:

  • Avoid strenuous activity and exercise for several weeks
  • Refrain from sexual activity for approximately 4–6 weeks
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing to minimize irritation
  • Maintain proper hygiene and follow all care instructions
  • Attend all follow-up appointments

Recovery Timeline:

  • Initial recovery: 1–2 weeks
  • Return to normal daily activity: 3-4 weeks
  • Resume full activity: 4–6 weeks
  • Final results develop as swelling resolves over several weeks, and continued remodeling can occur for up to a year.

Results of a Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty provides long-lasting improvement in labial contours and comfort, with results that are both functional and aesthetic.

When combined with clitoral hood reduction, patients often experience improved balance and proportion in the area. Incisions are carefully placed and typically heal with minimal visible scarring.  Maintaining overall health supports optimal healing and long-term results.
