Pre-Procedure Guidelines
To prepare for Dysport® injection, patients should:
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning prior to treatment
- Discontinue blood thinners 3 to 10 days prior to injections
- Follow all pre-treatment instructions provided during consultation
- Maintain good skin health leading up to the procedure
- Do not apply any makeup or sunblock to the treatment area on the day of your procedure
- Digital photos, consent, and cleansing of the injection areas will be performed
- Have any facials, peels, energy, or filler treatments scheduled the same day, in the same areas be performed PRIOR to the Dysport® injection
- Topical anesthetic, ice packs, and tiny 32G needles make the treatments barely noticeable
What To Expect And After Care
There is minimal social downtime from Dysport® injections
Patients should:
- Keep the skin clean and well-moisturized per instructions
- Avoid sun exposure and use sun protection
- Sleep with your head elevated the first night if you tend to swell from injections
- Do not rub or massage treated areas
- Avoid lying flat immediately after treatment
- Follow all post-procedure care instructions carefully.
- If you are using Redvive Red/NIR light therapy, you can restart immediately
Recovery Timeline
- No strenuous activity immediately after injections
- Return to normal activity and gym: the next day
- Back in tinted SPF or makeup immediately
- Tiny elevations at injection sites resolve in about 20 minutes
- Bruising, if any, resolves in 1-2 weeks
- Results are optimized within 2 weeks and fade over 3 to 6 months.
