ABOUT RF MICRONEEDLING
Las Vegas, NV cosmetic surgeon Dr. Edward M. Zimmerman utilizes a special technique that produces fantastic outcomes for our patients using a treatment called radiofrequency (RF) microneedling or RF skin tightening. RF laser remedies have existed for a number of years and are popular in the aesthetics industry for its skin tightening effects. This specific sort of therapy utilizes heat and microneedling to encourage the creation of collagen deep within the skin to reveal a firmer, smoother surface. At Aesthetic Revolution Las Vegas, we frequently incorporate this effective process into our Las Vegas, NV individual's skin remedies to generate healthier skin, a much smoother feel, and a luminous complexion.

IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR RF MICRONEEDLING
If you're 40 years old or older and are beginning to find age spots, discoloration, smile lines, and other skin flaws (which include age and sunlight exposure), RF microneedling could be the ideal treatment for you. RF microneedling may be a great option if you want to:
- Firm your skin, creating a more refreshed look
- Boost skin feel, pigment, and tone
- Fix skin imperfections, like discoloration and blood vessels
- Reduce the look of sun damage and age spots
- Repair acne scars and other forms of discoloration
- Rejuvenate skin for a younger, more luminous look
RF MICRONEEDLING PROCEDURE TECHNIQUE
Microneedling utilizes an instrument (with little needles at the end) that's rolled carefully around the skin to puncture and make micro-injuries that "interrupt" the tissues and stimulate the production of collagen. Some even refer to this technique as collagen induction treatment. New skin begins to grow as the skin begins to heal, leaving the surface looking and feeling brighter, smoother, and more refreshed. Although this process is often done on its own, combining this innovative method with radiofrequency laser technologies has enabled us to maximize the outcomes for our Las Vegas, NV patients.
This procedure is quite easy. The applicator that emits radiofrequency energy works by providing brief bursts of RF energy via a collection of 25 sterile, golden micro-needles. The power is delivered via the needles, which concurrently punctures your skin and returns the electrodes into the surface of the skin. The RF energy warms at specific levels, which offer cumulative and continuing results.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN RF MICRONEEDLING
Your RF microneedling session will be performed in the Aesthetic Revolution Las Vegas facility with the help of a numbing solution to decrease any discomfort. During your procedure, the handpiece will slide across the desired treatment areas, repeating the technique until the desired outcome has been reached. You should anticipate small pinpoint scabs to become pronounced 24 – 72 hours after the session, which will naturally disappear when the inherent skin has healed. Outcomes become noticeable as the skin heals after an RF microneedling treatment. Optimal results generally require multiple treatments.
RF MICRONEEDLING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does it cost?
The cost of your RF microneedling treatment will vary on your condition and the number of RF microneedling sessions needed to achieve the best results. During your first visit, our team can go over all your questions and estimate the cost of your treatment.
How many treatments will I need?
Each patient is unique and some individuals may need more treatments than others. Dr. Z will take his time to perform a thorough assessment to help determine the appropriate number of sessions for you. On average, most patients receive 3 – 4 treatments spaced one month apart.
RF microneedling is safe and effective for most skin types and can be used on almost any area of the face or body. This laser treatment offers stunning results and minimal downtime compared to a surgical facelift or body lift. RF microneedling is also a great option if you want to refresh the overall appearance of your skin.
Does it hurt?
Since a topical numbing cream is applied to the target area, most patients experience little to no discomfort during treatment.
Dr. Z will create a custom treatment plan for you after your initial consultation. He understands that every patient is different and will take his time to listen to your specific concerns to help you achieve your cosmetic goals safely and effectively.

IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR DERMAPLANING
Dermablading and dermaplaning are safe and effective solutions for many skin types. Women and men with severe acne may not be suited for this procedure. Ideal candidates for this procedure:
- Are searching for something other than microdermabrasion and chemical peels
- Do not have rosacea
- Have an abundance of fine facial hair
- Do not have skin that is highly sensitive
- Have uneven skin tone
DERMAPLANING PROCEDURE TECHNIQUE
Dermaplaning procedures are typically completed on an outpatient basis in our office. Once you are seated comfortably in our treatment room, your skin will be cleaned and the dermaplaning will begin with a gentle scraping of the skin's surface with a facial blade. The technician will skim the treatment area repeatedly until the face has been entirely treated. The amount of time needed will depend upon whether a small portion or the full face will be treated. At a consultation beforehand, Dr. Z will explain the process of the dermaplaning procedure to you.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN DERMAPLANING
Following your dermaplaning treatment, you can expect your face to be a tad red. This is a normal reaction that will fade in the coming days. It's not uncommon for some peeling to occur as the skin heals. However, it's important not to scratch the skin so it can heal on its own. You will need to avoid prolonged sun exposure as the face will be sensitive in the days and weeks following your procedure. You can expect results soon after, as dermaplaning produces smoother, softer skin right away. To help you care for your rejuvenated skin, our team will outline an improved skin care regimen with you, including the highly recommended, daily application of sunscreen.
DERMAPLANING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does dermaplaning cost?
The cost of your dermaplaning treatment will depend on facility fees, your unique treatment plan, the number of sessions needed to attain your goals, and if any other skin care procedure is combined. Once your custom dermal plan is developed, Dr. Z can estimate your costs. Our office frequently offers specials and monthly promos so be sure to ask about this during your consult. In addition, we provide discounts when you purchase multiple treatments.
Does it hurt?
No. Typically, most patients do not experience any pain or discomfort during a dermaplaning treatment as this is a noninvasive procedure that focuses on the very top layer of skin. The purpose of the treatment is to gently scrape away old or damaged skin cells and "peach fuzz" hair for smoother, healthier skin. The results will provide a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.
Why is dermaplaning good for the skin?
If you have an excess amount of "peach fuzz" or have tired-looking skin, then this is a great treatment option as it is simple, affordable, noninvasive, and does not require any downtime, like a chemical peel. Dermaplaning removes old damaged skin and vellus hair for a gorgeous profile. This process also helps to remove trapped dirt and bacteria, in addition to promoting collagen and elastin fibers for a glowing complexion.
Will my hair grow back thicker?
No. Contrary to the popular myth that hair will grow back thicker when shaved, dermaplaning does not interfere in the natural hair production process.
How often should I get dermaplaning?
We usually recommend that you receive a dermaplaning treatment once a month or every 4 – 6 weeks to maintain optimal results. Talk to your aesthetician to determine when they think it's best for you to return for follow-up treatments.
